In pursuit of architectural design excellence

Founded and Directed by the visionary leadership of Prof Dr. Ajai Chandran C.K and Dr. Anjusha I.B, Anantapadmam Builders Pvt.Ltd. The studio “Ananta”, meaning- “infinite blessings”, emerges as a dynamic and interdisciplinary design studio. Drawing inspiration from the timeless heritage of Bharat, we seamlessly blend sustainability and modern luxury, efficiency with a global perspective.​ A three generation architectural design practice based in Benguluru, Karnataka with continued design professional services of more than 50+ years, was initiated by Ar.T.Chandran (Former Chief Architect, Government of Kerala).The design exploration started from the land of Sri Anantha Padmanabha Swamy Temple, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala way back in 1968. Since then the collective is serving the architectural design requirements of the society.

Recipient of the ” Suryagaurav Rashtriya Puraskar” Award for outstanding contributions to community-focused professional and academic services, presented by the Surya Dutta Group of Institutes, Pune, in November 2020.

Honoured with the “Yuvaratna” Award by Birla White Cement for exceptional guidance of students in achieving successful architectural design completions in November 2010.

Awarded Best Thesis for the year 2003 by the Institute of Town Planners, India (ITPI).

Prof. Dr.Ajai Chandran.C.K, thrive to create unique built environments that foster art, culture, society, eco-consciousness, human-centric design, innovation, Indian knowledge systems and intellectual discourse. The goal is to contribute positively to society by shaping spaces that blend functionality, aesthetics, and environmental consciousness.

Professionally, there is over 25 years of consultancy experience, both India and abroad with significant contributions to a variety of prestigious projects, including commercial buildings, star hotels, community development, hospitals, public buildings, and residential complexes.

The academic journey is anchored by a Ph.D in Urban and Regional Planning from the School of Planning and Architecture, University of Mysore, December 2014. Recipient of Gold Medal for the Master’s Degree in Urban and Regional Planning (M.U.R.P.) from the School of Planning and Architecture, University of Mysore in 2003, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture (B.Arch) from B.M.S College of Engineering, Bangalore University in 1999.

This experience was gained while working as an Architect at Chandran & Associates in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, from 2000 to 2005. In addition to consultancy, 21 years of teaching experience have been dedicated to imparting knowledge in architecture and urban planning. The professional journey is further enriched by various prestigious memberships, including Fellow of the Indian Institute of Architects (FIIA), Registered/Associate Member of the Council of Architecture (COA), Fellow of the Institute of Town Planners, India (FITPI), Fellow of the Institute of Valuers, India (FIIV), and Green Building Certified Professional Green and Eco-Friendly Movement (GEM-CP) sustainability professional, GEM ASSOCHAM.

Dr.Anjusha .I.B

Administrative Director

Dr.Anjusha has more than two decades of experience in both professional and administrative roles in various institutions. She is a dedicated medical professional with a strong foundation in both clinical medical practice and research. The academic journey began with a rigorous MBBS program at the Government Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. Further strengthened by pursuing an M.D. in Physiology at Kasturba Medical College, Manipal University, Manipal.
Responsibilities extend beyond administrative roles, medical teaching, encompassing roles such as member of the Medical Education Unit, Senior ECLS trainer, academic Coordinator for Allied Health Sciences. Active involvement in guiding student research projects and several research publications in national and international journals. Her expertise is being extended in building a strong administrative and public relations at Ananta.
